Here at Teesside School Of Music we offer Ukulele Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Electric Guitar Lessons and Acoustic Guitar Lessons in our purpose built teaching studio’s.
£15.00 per half hour
£30.00 per hour
We recommend the earliest starting age for guitar lessons be 6 years old, but have tried younger children in the past. We don’t have an upper age limit so remember you’re never too old to learn to play guitar!
Lessons are taught by one of our enthusiastic and qualified guitar teachers. Our guitar teachers base the lessons around the student, so if you just want to learn for fun and are not interested in doing any official grade qualifications then that’s ok with us. However if you would like to be taken through your guitar grade exams we can do this as well. We are an official LCM exam centre and cover the RGT Guitar Exam Grade Qualifications.

Hi, I’m James – a young aspiring guitar teacher with many years of playing experience. I have some experience in teaching young people during my time in secondary school and college. I believe that music can be an extremely beneficial and important part of a young person’s life as it not only enhances their creative thinking but it opens many doors to different career opportunities and in my experience improves their wellbeing.

I have been teaching guitar for several years now with a 100% pass rate amongst all of my students in graded examinations. I can assist and advise students in all aspects of their musical endeavours, be it songwriting, performing or understanding of music theory.
My style of teaching emphasises a highly tailored approach towards each individual student depending on their ability and overall aims. From beginners who are looking to simply learn the basics of their instrument and play along with their favourite songs, to intermediate and advanced players who are seeking guidance in refining their techniques, I can offer friendly, engaging and professional tuition on your chosen instrument.

Jake Holt is a guitarist singer/songwriter from Stockton-on-Tees. He has performed across the UK since 2006 and won a number of awards and accolades as both a solo act and as part of a heavy metal band called Dead Legacies. Some notable performances include bearded theory spring gathering Festival at which his guitar was lent out to reggae legend Jimmy Cliff and he shared the Bill with Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin fame.

Happy to base lessons around what each student wants to do. Learn for fun or work towards the grade exams, or perhaps a mix of both.

Teesside School Of Music is located in Thornaby which is centrally located for students travelling from Middlesbrough, Ingleby Barwick, Yarm and Stockton.
Some students may not have an instrument yet and would prefer to try a few lessons first before committing to owning their own Ukulele, Bass, Electric or Acoustic Guitar. This is ok, as we have instruments you can use here at Teesside School Of Music for your guitar lessons. If you don’t have your own instrument then please state this in the “notes” section when booking, just so our teacher is aware before the lesson.
